What We Need:
We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Project Manager to help manage Marley Natural’s product categories. The Project Manager’s core responsibilities will include: owning projects from kickoff to final billing/audit; planning and coordinating project resources; and delivering projects on time, within budget and exceeding expectations. These responsibilities will include the development of short- and long-term strategies, conducting business and competitive analysis, conducting consumer research, guiding new product development and designers, managing pricing and gross margin, developing and executing go-to-market strategies, and managing the product lifecycle and end-of-life process. This PM will work directly with the Product Development Designers, as well as Marketing and Sales teams.
Commercialization and developing and managing timelines
Implement and lead a unified product development process by managing internal and external resources, across functions, from consumer insights through to launch and post-launch product improvements;
Lead design and engineering teams to develop innovative and breakthrough solutions to design challenges with constraints on cost, quality and performance;
Plan and deliver product plans which meet specified performance and cost criteria within development budget and timetable;
Select and leverage external industrial designers, product designers, sourcing and vendor/factory resources to develop compelling new products;
Assist in the formulation of company product strategy;
In coordination with Marketing, create competitive research and decks to develop product roadmaps;
Identify, source and manage appropriate vendors and suppliers with given supply chain;
Ensure key milestones and timelines are met by the category;
Achieve product model margin requirements;
Work with designers to execute prototypes and all elements.
To be a strong fit for this opportunity, you will have:
Demonstrated experience managing the full product development lifecycle, including product briefing, conceptual crafting, patent assessment, product line development, costing, prototyping, spec development, sourcing, manufacturing, importing, commercialization, and timeline management.
Ability to understand our consumers, markets and competitors;
4-7+ years of experience working on a creative product development team, combining process/project management with a creative environment that encourages new ideas and innovation;
Must possess a passion for building innovative products that fulfill and enhance the brand’s ethos; experience in lifecycle management of smoking accessories a plus;
Experience managing clients and building complex budgets;
Startup environment experience is strongly desired;
Highly entrepreneurial self-starter and very hands-on in defining objectives and producing deliverables in a fast-paced environment;
Strong blend of analytical, decision-making and creative problem solving skills;
Knowledge of – or the ability to quickly learn – country-by-country regulations that could affect product development, design, packaging requirements, etc.;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
