Job Summary:
The Sr. Product Manager’s role for Weedmaps will be to manage the roadmap and development of one of the very first cannabis product, e-commerce platforms in the world.
This role will require a flexible yet data driven approach to optimizing and plotting the newest features for the platform.
The Product Manager will partner tightly with business stakeholders and internal resources to commit to new features, manage the workload of the development resources and deliver features on the e-commerce platform.
This is a new role within the organization, and as such it will be the expectation that the individual who assumes the role can create/optimize process, select and implement new tools as needed, and ensure compliance from resources and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be one who is passionate about the cannabis industry, flexible, and is able to maintain an even-keel temperament and a sense of humor working in a relatively unstructured and fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become a product expert and evangelist for the Weedmaps e-commerce environment
  • Develop and maintain a release roadmap for the e-commerce platform(s)
  • Define user stories/functional specs with stakeholders
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize features
  • Ensure all features align to the product/business strategy
  • Work with technology (front/back/systems teams) to estimate new features and launch dates
  • Communicate progress towards releases with stakeholders
  • Collect and document new feature concepts
  • Propose new concepts, maintain best practices, and offer long term vision
  • Partner with Studio Manager for all creative/asset requests
  • Act as mentor, partner and inspiration for the development team
  • Conduct product demonstrations for stakeholders
  • Adhere to (and optimize) the product planning and release processes
  • Ensure all stakeholders/business disciplines are invested and participating in the release process
  • Assist in reviewing/selecting candidates for development, creative and PM roles

Qualifications and/or Education:

  • BA or BS preferred
  • Master’s Degree a +
  • Project management certification is +
  • Proven experience in leading and maintaining morale in a fast paced environment

Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years working in an e-commerce environment
  • 2+ years functioning in a product management capacity
  • Experience in an Agile/XP development environment
  • Experience communicating and working with multiple stakeholders and providing guidance on e-commerce best practices
  • Experience in competitive/market analysis a +
  • Experience with usability testing a +
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Senior Leadership
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and opinions
  • Understanding of development principles

Familiarity with analytics/data driven decision approach

Working Environment:
- Located in Irvine, CA or the surrounding area
- Ability to travel up to 10%-20%
- Maintain flexible hours/work schedule
- The annual salary range for this position is 90K – 110K, but ultimately is determined by experience and qualifications
